National Historical Recognition Program
On June 22, 2006, the Government of Canada announced the Community Historical Recognition Program and the National Historical Recognition Program to commemorate and educate Canadians about the historical experiences and contributions of ethno-cultural communities affected by wartime measures and immigration restrictions that were applied in Canada.
The National Historical Recognition Program (NHRP) is a program that funds national federal projects that educate Canadians, particularly youth, about the history related to wartime measures and/or immigration restrictions and the contribution of affected communities to the building of Canada.
Only federal departments and agencies are eligible to receive funding from the NHRP.
