Apply for a work permit
This application is for temporary residents who wish to work in Canada.
To access an unsubmitted online application, log onto MyCIC directly.
Step 1 – Assess your eligibility
- Determine if you are eligible by using our Work Permit Self-Assessment Tool or reviewing the eligibility criteria.
Step 2 – Get your supporting documents
- Ensure you have the documents that you need before applying online.
Step 3 – Register for or log into MyCIC
- You need a MyCIC account only if you are submitting an online application.
- If you have submitted your application on paper and you wish to check your status, you do not need a MyCIC account.
Login if you already have a MyCIC user ID and password.
Register if you are a new user.
