elements previously captured by the Immigrant Visa
and Record of Landing, as well as a photograph and
additional information fields for the holder's eye
colour and height. The purpose of the Confirmation
of Permanent Residence document is to provide the
holder with a hard copy of the digitized personal
information that will be encoded on the Permanent
Resident Card.
The holder will be examined on arrival at a
Canadian port of entry, and if otherwise
admissible, will be asked to sign the Confirmation
of Permanent Residence. Copy 1 of the form,
including the client's photo and signature, will
be sent to the CPC where this information will be
scanned. The digitized images will be
transmitted, along with the FOSS client file data,
to the card production facility where a Permanent
Resident Card will be generated.
