Backgrounder - Foreign credentials referral services at Service Canada Centres

In May 2007, the Government of Canada established the Foreign Credentials Referral Office (FCRO) to help internationally-trained and educated individuals find authoritative and accurate information about the Canadian labour market and Canada’s credential assessment and recognition processes.

Through in-person services, a dedicated toll-free number and an interactive website, and pilot projects overseas, the FCRO provides authoritative information, path-finding and referral services to internationally-trained individuals in Canada, potential immigrants overseas and Canadian employers interested in hiring these individuals. The overseas pilot projects are being delivered in India, China and the Philippines through the Association of Canadian Community Colleges.

Listed below are the locations of the over 75 Service Canada Centres across Ontario currently offering in-person FCRO services. By the end of 2007, these services will be available at 94 Service Canada Centres across Ontario, and 320 Centres across the country.
