Announcement of settlement funding to help newcomers settle in Ottawa
The Government of Canada wants to help newcomers succeed. To help newcomers
settle in the City of Ottawa, the Government of Canada is committing more
than $10 million over the next two years to six agencies in Ottawa
that provide settlement services.
The funding is provided under the Canada-Ontario Immigration Agreement (COIA). Listed below are the six agencies receiving a portion of the $10 million in today’s announcement:
- Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization: $3,880,570
- Catholic Immigration Centre: $2,219,030
- Ottawa Catholic School Board: $74,315
- LASI World
Skills Inc.: $1,652,218
- Ottawa YM/YWCA: $2,187,496
- Ottawa Public Library: $464,202
