Backgrounder - Announcement of settlement funding to help newcomers settle in Windsor
The Government of Canada wants to help newcomers succeed. To help newcomers settle in the City of Windsor, the Government of Canada is committing more than $13.3 million over the next two years to seven agencies in Windsor that provide settlement services.
The funding is provided under the Canada-Ontario Immigration Agreement. Listed below are the seven agencies that will receive a portion of the $13.3 million announced today.
- Adult Language and Learning: $391,070
- Collège Boréal: $354,474
- Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County: $1,668,263
- New Canadians’ Centre of Excellence Inc.: $7,704,816
- South Essex Community Council: $368,995
- Women’s Enterprise Skills Training: $469,135
- YMCA of Windsor and Essex County: $2,411,183
