Backgrounder - Appointments to the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB)

David J.T. Mungovan

Prior to his appointment to the IRB, Mr. Mungovan was most recently Counsel with Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP. He has articled and practised law with that firm and its predecessors, first as an associate and, beginning in 1976, as a partner. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Boston College and a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School. Mr. Mungovan was called to the Ontario Bar in 1971.

Lynne Patricia Edith Cunningham

Prior to her appointment to the IRB, Ms. Cunningham was a detective with the Sex Crimes Unit and, previously, supervisor of the Domestic Conflict Unit, both with the Calgary Police Service. She has been with the Calgary Police Service for the past 30 years and has been an active member in her community. She has received numerous awards, including the Star of Excellence from the City of Calgary. Ms. Cunningham holds a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University.
