Robert Néron
Robert Néron (Montréal) was appointed to the IRB on November 27, 2000. He was subsequently reappointed on November 27, 2002, November 27, 2007 and September 9, 2009. On June 30, 2004, Mr. Néron assumed the position of Acting Assistant Deputy Chairperson of the Immigration Appeal Division (IAD) in the Toronto office until May 2005. Mr. Néron was transferred to the Montréal office, where he was Coordinating Member of the IAD. On September 9, 2009, Mr. Néron was designated Assistant Deputy Chairperson of the Refugee Protection Division (RPD) for the Eastern Region. Prior to his appointment to the Board, Mr. Néron was in private practice specializing in immigration and refugee law. He received a Bachelor in Political Science from the Université Laval, a Bachelor of Laws from the Université de Moncton and a Master in Management from the Université de Sherbrooke. Mr. Néron is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
