Speaking in front of the illegal migrant vessel, the Ocean Lady in Vancouver, the Hon. Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety, the Hon. Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, and the Hon. Stockwell Day, President of the Treasury Board introduced Bill C-49 (Preventing Human Smugglers from Abusing Canada’s Immigration System Act).
