News Release – Government of Canada supports Calgary Youth Festival at Croatian Canadian Cultural Centre

Calgary, January 7, 2011 — Devinder Shory, Member of Parliament for Calgary Northeast and Bob Dechert, Member of Parliament for Mississauga-Erindale, today announced support for the Mosaic Multicultural Youth Festival of Art, Dance and Music taking place at the Croatian Canadian Cultural Centre of Calgary this Sunday.

By supporting festivals like this one, we help showcase the diversity of our country, and the many talents of younger Canadians,” said MP Shory on behalf of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney.

Our Government is delivering significant funding to enable young entertainers from various cultural backgrounds to showcase their talents,” added MP Dechert.

The Alberta Rehabilitation, Integration & Care Services is receiving $13,687 for the event under Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s new Inter-Action program.

The festival, which will take place on Sunday January 9 from 3p.m. to 8 p.m. at 3010 12th Street Ne in Calgary, is open to the public. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
