Apply for a work permit

This application is for temporary residents who wish to work in Canada.

To access an unsubmitted online application, log onto MyCIC directly.

 Step 1  – Assess your eligibility

• Determine if you are eligible by using our Work Permit Self-Assessment Tool or reviewing the eligibility criteria.

 Step 2  – Register

• First, you will need to obtain a Government of Canada ePass, and then register with MyCIC.
• Visit CIC Secure Online Services for more information.

 Step 3  – Apply

• Once registered with MyCIC, you can apply online.
