I have received a Canadian job offer. What documents do I need from my future employer?
In most cases, your employer must send you:
- a job offer letter, and
- a document from Human Resources and Skills Development Canada which says your employer is allowed to hire you (known as a positive Labour Market Opinion, or LMO).
Once you have these two documents, you can apply to get, extend or modify a work permit.
You do not need an LMO for some jobs.
