Where can I get advice on hiring foreign workers?
CIC has Temporary Foreign Worker Units that will help to ease the entry of temporary foreign workers into Canada. These units:
- advise employers and human resources agencies that want to employ foreign workers who do not need to get authorization from Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (known as a Labour Market Opinion), but still need a work permit,
- give advice on work permit exemptions,
- pre-screen supporting documents from employers to streamline the application process,
- provide opinions for officers at the point of entry, and
- pre-screen some documents submitted by foreign workers, such as academic or professional qualifications.
For a list of Temporary Foreign Worker Units in Canada, and information on how to contact them, see Information for Canadian employers: Temporary Foreign Worker Units.
