How do I pay for my online application?
There are three payment options. Two of the three are available no matter where you live. The third is only available if you live in Canada.
Available if you live in or outside Canada
- Pay online within your online application
If you are submitting your application online, you will have the option to pay your application fees at the time of submission. This option is highly recommend as paying within your online application will ensure you have paid the correct amount for the application type you are submitting. You can pay your fees online by- Visa,
- MasterCard,
- American Express or
- prepaid credit card.
- Pay online using the e-Payment tool on the CIC website

Available only if you live in Canada
- Pay at a financial institution/bank
If you want to pay at a financial institution, such as a bank or Western Union, you must get Fees Receipt (IMM 5401) from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). This form is not available online. You must order it online, then CIC will mail it to you. Your financial institution must complete this receipt before you can submit your online application.
