What can I do if I fail the written test and/or the oral interview?

If your application for citizenship is not approved, you may:

  • appeal the citizenship judge’s decision to the Federal Court of Canada within sixty (60) days from the date the refusal letter was mailed; or
  • reapply as soon as you feel that you meet all the requirements.

There is no waiting period before you can reapply. However, it is recommended that you review your situation carefully to determine whether or not it is likely that you will meet the requirements for citizenship before you reapply.
