What do I need to do before sending my citizenship application to the Case Processing Centre?
You must sign and date the application before mailing it to the Case Processing Centre in Sydney, Nova Scotia and ensure you have all the required documents included in the document checklist. Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will use the date you signed your application to determine whether you meet the residence requirement. You must be eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship the day before you sign the application. Before you sign it, make sure that you qualify for citizenship.
CIC will return your application to you if it is incomplete. Please refer to the checklist at the end of the application to ensure your application is complete.
