Will my family need to go in person to have their fingerprints and photograph taken?

Yes. Unless they are exempt from biometric identity screening. All people included in the visa application between the ages of 14 and 79 will need to go in person to have their fingerprints and photographs taken if they are nationals of a country or territory for which Canada needs biometric information.
