I didn’t pay enough fees. Can I get a refund?
Yes. Follow the instructions on how to request a refund and then submit your application with the correct amount of fees. Or, if you prefer, you can choose to pay the correct amount of fees and submit both receipts with your application - the processing centre will refund the overpayment once they have processed your application as long as you have provided the receipt(s) we issued when you paid fees online or the fee receipt form(s) (IMM 5401) you used to pay fees at a financial institution in Canada.
Note that fee returns for Federal Skilled Worker applications that were terminated as a result of the Jobs, Growth and Long-term Prosperity Act are handled differently. For more FAQs on this subject
