I overpaid my fees. Can I get a refund?

Yes. Follow the instructions on how to request a refund or submit the receipt with your application and the processing centre will refund the overpayment once they have processed your application as long as you have provided the receipt we issued when you paid fees online or the fee receipt form (IMM 5401) you used to pay fees at a financial institution in Canada.

Note that fee returns for Federal Skilled Worker applications that were terminated as a result of the Jobs, Growth and Long-term Prosperity Act are handled differently. For more FAQs on this subject
