How does this new program affect the moratorium on the Federal Entrepreneur Program?
The current entrepreneur program criteria includes minimum net worth and business experience, and it made permanent resident status conditional upon the creation of at least one job in three years. As such, it offered only minimal benefits to the Canadian economy and tended to encourage investments in smaller, safer enterprises, instead of encouraging risk-taking and innovation. There are no plans to lift the moratorium.
