You must bring that letter when you apply for a Police Certificate.

If you are a citizen of Malaysia

If you live in Malaysia:

You must complete an application form online and send it to the Consular Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia.

If you live outside of Malaysia:

You should apply at your nearest Malaysian Embassy or Consulate.

If you are not a citizen of Malaysia

If you live in Malaysia:

Certificates are only available to individuals who have stayed in Malaysia for one year or more.

If you have lived in Malaysia for more than one year, you must complete an application form online and send it to the Consular Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia.

If you live outside of Malaysia:

Certificates are only available to individuals who have stayed in Malaysia for one year or more.

If you have lived in Malaysia for more than one year, you should apply at your nearest Malaysian Embassy or Consulate.

Information and documents you need

  • Letter requesting a police certificate from Citizenship and Immigration Canada
  • The original application, as well as a copy
  • Two recent passport-size photographs
  • Two copies of your identification card
  • Two copies of your passport (for foreigners, all pages)
  • A self-addressed envelope (with the required postage)
  • Applicable fees (in cash or postal order in favour of Akauntan Negara Malaysia)
