How to get a police certificate – Chile

Do I need to provide a Police Certificate with my Application for Permanent Residence?
Yes.

Name of document(s) to get:
Certificado de Antecedentes (for criminal convictions) and Hoja de Vida del Conductor (for convictions related to driving)

How to get a Police Certificate:

If you are a citizen of Chile:

If you live in Chile:

You can apply in person at any office of the Registro Civil e Identification, with your “RUT” or online with Servicio de Registro Civil e Identificacion (available in Spanish only).

Applicants residing in Chile who are indisposed may provide a notarized authorization to a 3rd party representative to apply on their behalf.

If you live outside Chile:

You can apply for a Certificado de Antecedentes para Fines Especiales and an original Hoja de vida del Conductor at your nearest Chilean embassy or consulate or online at Servicio de Registro Civil e Identificación (available in Spanish only) with your “RUT.”

Do I need to provide a Police Certificate for Express Entry?

Yes. If you are Invited to Apply (ITA) for Permanent Residence, you need to upload a police certificate in your Electronic Application for Permanent Residence (e-APR). Please follow the instructions above to get your police certificate.

Note: CIC will not accept police certificates sent by mail for Express Entry applications.
