How to obtain a police certificate - Panama

Do I need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence?
Yes.

How and where do I obtain one?
A Record Policivo can be obtained from the Departamento de Autenticación y Legalización del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores. Applicants must apply in person or send a representative on their behalf with a photocopy of the applicant’s identification document or, in the case of foreigners, with a photocopy of the applicant’s passport. Applicants or their representatives must complete the form provided by the Departamento de Autenticación y Legalización del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores on the day of the request and present a photocopy of their passport or Cédula. The Departamento de Autenticación y Legalización del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores forwards the request to the Policía Técnica Judicial (PTJ). Fiscal stamps, purchased from Banco Nacional, to pay the processing fee and legalization fee should be provided at the time of document collection.
