Verification of Status (formerly Verification of Entry)

You can apply for a Verification of Status document for the following immigration documents:

  • Record of Landing (IMM 1000)
  • Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292 or IMM 5688)
  • Certificate of Departure (IMM 0056)
  • Deportation Order (IMM 1213)
  • Departure Order (IMM 5238)
  • Permit to Come Into or Remain In Canada (IMM 1263)
  • Authorization to Return to Canada (IMM 1203)
  • Visitor Record (IMM 1097 or IMM 1442)
  • Work Permit  (IMM IMM 1102 or IMM 1442)
  • Study Permit (IMM 1208 or IMM 1442)
  • Exclusion Order (IMM 1214)
  • Protected Persons

Replacement of valid temporary resident documents

You can apply to replace your current and valid temporary resident document if it has been lost, stolen or destroyed. We may issue you a replacement document for any of these documents:

  • Visitor Record (IMM 1442)
  • Work Permit  (IMM 1442)
  • Study Permit (IMM 1442)
  • Temporary Resident Permit (IMM 1442)

Amendment of immigration documents:

You can apply to change the following historical documents if mistakes were made by immigration officials in recording the information you gave when you applied to come to Canada:

  • Record of Landing (IMM 1000)
  • Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292 or IMM 5688)

Amendment of valid temporary resident documents:

You can apply to fix a mistake made by immigration officials in recording some of your personal information if the following valid temporary resident documents have not expired:

  • Visitor Record (IMM 1442)
  • Work Permit  (IMM 1442)
  • Study Permit (IMM 1442)
  • Permit to Come Into or Remain in Canada (IMM 1263)
  • Temporary Resident Permit (IMM 1442)
