10th Anniversary of the first Chinese Canadian to serve in the Senate

Vivienne Poy is an author, fashion designer, entrepreneur historian and currently, a Senator. She has studied History and completed a Ph.D. at the University of Toronto, written two books about her family, completed a Diploma in Fashion Arts at Seneca College, and started her own fashion line.

Appointed to the Senate in 1998, it was through Vivienne Poy’s motion in 2001, that Asian Heritage Month was officially declared nationally.
