Check processing times for passport services

Find out how long it takes for the Passport Program to process your passport application. Processing times begin once we have received a complete application. They are based on how you applied and whether you requested express or urgent service.

We make every effort to meet the established processing times. The program’s performance delivery has over 99% of clients receiving their passport on time or earlier. These processing times only apply to properly and fully completed applications. It does not include time required for postal delivery. A small number of complex and exceptional cases require additional security checks, or status/citizenship verifications. Those cases may require additional processing time.

Processing times begin once we have received a complete application form accompanied with all required supporting documentation.

Processing times do not include mailing time.
