3.9 Roles of ICO Assistants
The roles of ICO assistants also vary significantly from location to location. In some locations, ICO assistants are involved in some of the liaison work with airlines or local authorities. In some areas, they are involved in visa processing activities. In other places, they are involved in administrative support duties only. The roles and responsibilities appear to be based on individuals rather than on the position description. In all sites visited, ICO assistants report and are directly accountable to the ICOs.
