Audit of Operational Controls at
Ports of Entry (Based on the
1996 Tassé Report) – Final Report

2.2.5 Other Initiatives

FOSS and Manual Immigration Key Control Forms

One port of entry has five outports under its responsibility. When a client arrives at one of these outports, which are staffed only by CCRA, the outport phones CIC. CCRA provides the information to CIC, and CIC inputs it into FOSS. The FOSS copy (IMM 1442) is generated at the CIC port of entry, and a copy is (section removed) to the outport for the client. CCRA stamps this (section removed) IMM 1442, gives it to the client and collects the fee.

This port of entry began this initiative to avoid delays between the date a manual immigration key control form was issued and the date it was entered into FOSS.

This system reduces the need to keep immigration key control forms on site at outports.
