2.4.3 Badges
Chapter 4 of the CIC Service and Administration Manual, “Identification” (SA4), section 2, outlines the requirements for badges in the Department and the responsibilities of those who wear them.
We found that most immigration officers were wearing their badges, although we observed a few instances in the field where they were not. The audit team was advised that the immigration officers had “forgotten” their badges at home.
Given heightened security concerns, the importance of always wearing one’s badge cannot be overemphasized.
