Appendix XVII: Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) rates for Immigration Medical Examination (IME)
The table below is an extract of the IME specific services and codes relevant to DMPs/Examiners. DMPs/Examiners should verify the IFHP Benefit Grid, found on the IFHP Provider portal, periodically for updates to this information. In the case of any difference between this table and the IFHP Benefit Grid, the Benefit Grid will be considered the definitive source.

- The patient documentation and specimen handling benefit is limited to 1 per patient, per day.
- This fee is allowed to laboratories only.
- Not applicable to a patient visit solely to receive instructions or collection containers.
- When multiple tests are ordered for the same patient, for the same day, only one fee is payable.
- Note D. Furtherance fee for cases of public health or public safety concern only. The service can be performed by DMP/Examiners only.
- Note E. Furtherance fee include investigations for cases of public health or public safety concern only, which can be performed by MD specialists only. Referral from a DMP/Examiner is required.
- Note F. IME combined code includes: IME examination and IME laboratory examination: urinalysis. Not payable if claimed together with one of the following codes: 0293CI, 0293L.
- Note G. IME combined code includes: IME examination, IME venipuncture and IME laboratory examination. Not payable if claimed together with one of the following codes: 0293CI, 0293V, 0293L.
