After arriving in Canada, you may need more information or you may have questions about working as a live-in caregiver.
This page provides information on:
If you are inside Canada, contact the Call Centre (see Contact Us at the top of this page).
If you are outside Canada, contact the Canadian embassy, high commission or consulate responsible for your area. See a list of these offices at Find a CIC office in the I Need To… section on the right-hand side of the page.
If you are working as live-in caregiver and have any questions, difficulties or complaints, go to the province or territory below where you are working. You can get information for the office responsible for labour or employment standards in your province or territory.
You can contact any of these groups to get more information about your rights as a live-in caregiver in Canada. Go to the name of the organization for full contact information.
You do not need your employer’s permission to contact these groups.
These groups can answer your questions about working conditions, employee–employer relations, changing jobs, job loss and abuse. They can also help you learn more about your new community and how to meet people.
