Lawful permanent residents of the United States don’t need an eTA
As of April 26, 2022, lawful permanent residents of the United States are exempt from the eTA requirement. Find out what documents you need to travel to Canada.

Suggestions for Using the eTA Promotional Materials

- Printable Products
- Distribute copies of factsheets, handouts and/or business cards at trade shows, conferences or other events related to travel and tourism.
- Display in airports (e.g. roll-up banners or posters at check-in area or boarding gates, copies of factsheets on literature racks, business cards at check-in or boarding gate counters).
- Display copies of factsheets or handouts at travel agencies.
- Web Products
- Share or retweet IRCC social media posts (see calendar for posting dates) or use our planned content as inspiration for original posts.
- Add an eTA web banner or web text to your website.
- Display eTA graphics on public display screens.
- Share links to IRCC’s multilingual web pages when communicating about eTA in languages other than English and French
- Videos
- Share videos via social media posts.
- Include a video link or embedded YouTube video on your website.
- Include a video link when sending stakeholder messages about eTA.
- Share links to IRCC’s multilingual videos when communicating about eTA in languages other than English and French

- Add eTA information to pre-travel customer emails (e.g. booking confirmations, e-tickets, and check-in reminders).
- Send direct emails to customers who have previously travelled to Canada with information about eTA and a link to Canada.ca/eTA
- Include information about eTA with a link to Canada.ca/eTA and/or the eTA video in regular stakeholder messages (e.g. newsletters, email updates, frequent flyer communications).
