How to pay additional fees

If you received instructions from us asking you to pay additional fees, you should follow these steps:

  1. Calculate the total fee difference you need to pay.
    • The payable difference is the difference between the old fee and the new fee. You can find the amounts in the payable difference column in the table below.
    • For example, for an economic immigration (including Express Entry) application, the payable difference for you, your spouse or partner and 1 dependent child (including the right of permanent residence fee) would be CAN$350.
      • The right of permanent residence fee payable difference for the principal applicant and accompanying spouse or partner is $60 each.
      • The processing fee payable difference for the principal applicant and accompanying spouse or partner is $100 each.
      • The processing fee payable difference for a dependent child is $30.
  2. Go to the Make an additional payment or pay other fees page in the ePayment portal.
  3. Under Quantity, enter the payable difference amount.
    • You’ll get 1 receipt for each payment. You can pay as a single payment or repeat this step to make multiple payments.
  4. Submit the receipt(s) to IRCC by following the instructions in the request that we sent you asking you to pay additional fees.
